Their association with North Carolina's Northeast Regional Economic Development Commission, both through economic development and tourism issues, provides additional resources.

Working Together…
The Chamber of Commerce is an action agency designed to meet the needs of the entire Hyde County Community. We serve both the Mainland and Ocracoke Island. Our Members share a common interest in improving economic conditions, preserving our heritage, and assuring a future in the County for our youth.

The Chamber was formed in 1989 by a group of volunteer individuals and businesses to advance the commercial, financial, industrial, tourism and civic interests of Hyde County.

An Invitation
Whether you live and work in Hyde County, or in one of our neighboring communities, you are a vital part of the future of our County.

As we move forward into the 21st Century, many changes await us. The challenge we face is to take advantage of these opportunities while at the same time maintaining the quality of life that is so unique to Hyde County.

We seek to preserve the values of those who have gone before us, the abundance of natural beauty and wildlife, and the heritage and culture of the County. At the same time, we are aware that ’times are a-changing’ and the future of our County depends on each of us working together for the good of the entire County.

Please consider our invitation to join the Greater Hyde County Chamber of Commerce as your way to help us meet our common interest goals. Click here for the application to join the Greater Hyde County Chamber of Commerce.

An Investment in the Future…
Dues paid by our Members, along with an economic development contract with the County of Hyde provide for the bulk of our operating expenses. Our budget is occasionally supplemented by the sale of promotional items and grants for specific projects.
